To access any of the machines in the lab you must be logged into lab.marzconsulting.net. You can use the Putty SSH client available from the main page menu. Once logged in to lab you can ssh to your containers using standard command syntax i.e. ssh root@rjones1 for example.

Your container name is the same as your login name plus the number 1 and the number 2. Robert Jones's containers are named rjones1 and rjones2.

The confusing part of using the lab is that getting into your dedicated Solaris 10 containers is a two step process. First you login to lab.marzconsulting.net using the login name and password you use for access to the course.

Once you are logged into lab as a regular user, you then ssh as root into your containers with syntax like the following:

ssh root@rjones2

while you are already logged into lab.marzconsulting.net.

Your containers root password usually starts as abc123 but you can change that once your login to your containers. You could also add you course login and password to the containers once you get to a stage where you are able to add user accounts and set passwords on Solaris systems.
